HAI Password Management Guidelines
SUMMARY
This document explains HAI's password management policies.
MORE INFORMATION
HAI now allows all current system users to select their own passwords for system access. You can change your password either at the beginning of a Citrix session or via our web site.
Passwords will expire every 90 days, at which time the user must select a new password. When you make up a new password, please keep the following in mind:
USE EXTREME CARE IN SELECTING YOUR PASSWORD. A password is the only thing that keeps your competitors from seeing your company's confidential data. Keep this in mind as you choose one.
The password should be something that is randomly generated. (A good random technique is just open a book to a random page and start pointing randomly to letters/numbers on the page. Use those letters/numbers for your password.)
It should be impossible for anyone that knows you to guess and easy for you to remember.
Our system requires a certain complexity to all passwords:
Passwords must be at least 7 characters in length, cannot contain any part of your full name, and must contain 3 out of 4 types of characters: Capital Letters (A,B,C), Lower Case Letters (a,b,c), Numerals (1,2,3), and Symbols (#,@,*). If your password does not meet these requirements it will not be accepted by the system. You will not be able to re-use an old password
Please feel free to call or email with any and all password questions.
